DAY 1 – DELHI

Arrival at Delhi, where you will be received by our officials and you will be transported to your hotel by the staffs. New Delhi is the Capital of India and naturally, the major gateway for your entry to India. It’s a bustling metropolis, where the remnants of ancient and medieval past, remnants of British colonial hegemony and contemporary lifestyle and architecture all seamlessly blend into one. Located virtually at the heart of the country, the city and its surroundings are the melting pot of various traditions and cultures and has been the centre stage of various ruling dynasties down the ages.

DAY 2 – LEH

After having your breakfast, you start for the airport for catching your flight to Leh. Upon arriving in Leh, you will be received by our representative, who will take you to your hotel and help you to check in. You will have to spend the entire day taking rest and acclimatizing to the high altitude weather to avert the customary high altitude ailments. This is extremely important for you and for your tour ahead.

DAY 3 – LEH

After breakfast, the full day tour of Leh commences. The tour includes your visit to Hemis and Thiksey monastery, the “3-Idiots’ school campus, and Sindhu Darshan at the Sindhu Ghat. After the breakfast, you start your journey to the Hmis Monastery, which is located 45 km west of the city of Leh. It is regarded as the wealthiest and the most prosperous monasteries of Ladakh. After your visit to Hemis, you take a return journey down the same route, so as to visit the famous Thicksey Monastery, which is situated at a hill-lock, overlooking the Indus Valley. This monastery is famous for a colossal seated sculpture of Maitreya and an assembly hall or Dukhang, which houses some hundreds of prayer books, bound with silk and preserved between covers made up of wood. After a visit to Thicksey Monastery, your journey continues through a number of chortens one after another, till you reach the Shey Palace, which is a summer resort for the King of Ladakh. You also visit the school campus, where some of the scenes of the famous Hindi feature film, ‘3 Idiots’ were shot, and follow it up with a visit to the Sindhu Ghat to witness the River Sindhu, before coming back to the hotel at Leh. You retire for the day.

DAY 4 – NUBRA

After having an early breakfast, you start for Nubra Valley, which is 120 km from Leh and will take approximately 4-5 hours drive. The route will take you through the famous Khardung La Pass, which, at 5605 meters, is the highest navigable road in the world, and is located 39 km from Leh. Nubra Valley is located at the northern part of Ladakh, between the Ladakh and Karakoram ranges. Once you reach Nubra, you retire for the day in the tents and take rest, which will give you an opportunity to get habituated with this extremely high altitude.

DAY 5 – LEH

You have your breakfast in the camp and visit the silvery sand dunes of the cold desert. You can also enjoy a camel safari, though it is optional. The Nubra Valley is famous for two humped Bactrian camels. Later, you start your journey down to Leh taking the same route, yet again passing through the Khardung La Pass yet again. Downhill drive will take lesser time and you will reach Leh by afternoon. Take rest and in the evening, you can take a leisurely stroll along the local market.

DAY 6 – PANGONG LAKE

Have an early breakfast and start your journey to the Pangong Lake, which is 170 km from Leh, and will take approximately 5-6 hours by road. En route you cross the Chang La Pass, which is situated at the altitude of 5,486 meters. Located at a height of 4,267 meters from sea level, Pangong Lake is 134 km long and it extends from India to Tibet, in China. This spectacular lake, filled with pristine blue water, is actually a narrow basin of a series of inland drainages, and is bisected by the Sino-Indian international border. The lake was thrown open for public visit only a few years back, but is still heavily guarded by the army of the two countries, and is constantly under intense military surveillance. Once you reach the Pangong Lake, you have the lunch there in the camp on the shore of the Lake, experience the unfathomable serenity of the place and the spectacular beauty of the surrounding area all throughout the day, before retiring for the day in the camp.

DAY 7 – LEH

Early morning breakfast, following by your journey back to Leh. You get the entire afternoon and the evening to explore the streets of Leh and the local market yet again.

DAY 8 – DELHI

Have you breakfast and start your journey for the airport for catching the flight back to Delhi. At the airport, again our representative will be there at your service, who will help to catch the flight back to Delhi.

DAY 9 – DELHI

Have your breakfast, and proceed on to the airport, to catch a flight to your next destination. Again our representative will be there to see you off and help you board your plane.
